Machine Shop Project Spotlight: Hospitality Industry Stainless Columns for Glass Barrier System

This custom machining job was for The Edition Hotel in Los Angeles. Working with the Architectural Metals Contractor, our team of estimators and engineers were able to produce shop drawings and manufacture 1,000 feet of stainless steel and glass barriers and gates for the rooftop bar and pool areas.

 The columns we made out of 30,000 pounds of raw 1” thick 316 line grained stainless steel. Each corner had to be specifically designed with that location. Spanning 4 ft on center, there were 250 pieces, some production and other custom built.

 The rooftop bar and pool area overlooks parts of Los Angeles, Hollywood, San Pedro, Long Beach and Catalina Island. The Edition Hotel is a premiere West Hollywood hotel with upscale dining and entertainment. The design of the system was equally important to comply with safety codes and add aesthetics that complimented the beautiful views from the rooftop.
